Course Description
Supply
chain management has become a process that involves extensive
strategizing and decision making. The supply chain program provides
essential concepts and strategies related to demand management
procurement and supplier planning, material requirements planning,
capacity requirements planning, sales and operations planning, master
scheduling, performance measurements supplier relationships, quality
control, and continuous improvements.The course covers definitions and
basic supply chain management terminologies. It explores the functions
of supply chain management and logistics, supply chain decisions, supply
chain designs, global supply chains and virtual supply chains. Also
covered the relationship between supply chain/logistics strategy and the
structure of the organization; and the influence of organizational
structure on performance. Specific focus on Purchasing, Transportation,
Production Planning and Control, Inventory Management, Physical
Distribution Management, and SCM MIS.
